About Us

Andy and I met on a blind date in Dec. 2005. One of my 7th grade students was his neice, and she set us up. Go figure. We saw each other every day after that! We were engaged by June and married in September of 2006. In January, 2008, we welcomed little Ethan into our home, and in August, 2010, little Addison arrived.

Andy is a diesel mechanic at Kennecott. I taught middle school science for ten years, and am now an evidence-based learning specialist for a school district.

Want some!

Ethan has come along way in his conversing!! His new words . . . Want some! It doesn't matter what we're up to, he "wants some." So, when Andy is putting on his cologne, when I am putting on my deodorant, when I spray some hairspray, etc. You name it, he wants some! It is adorable!

He also loves to blow kisses, give kisses on the lips, and give great big bear hugs! There is nothing better than coming home from a long day at work and getting a big bear hug and kiss from my little guy! What a perfect moment!

The new job is good . . . challenging . . . but good! It is really difficult to change my perspective from a classroom/school perspective to a district wide perspective. This will be my greatest challenge. I have been running like a mad woman, and I hope that I'll be able to slow down a little when I get the hang of things! I certainly needed something different though!

Blanket Wrangler!

Ethan has always been fond of his blankets, but a new favorite has emerged! All the other blankets in the house are called blankie, but this one in particular, he calls duckie! (thanks to Missy for the blanket!) The other day he took the blanket outside with him, and drug it all through the dirt, and it was filthy by the time we got back inside. You would have thought it was the end of the world when I took duckie away to put him in the washing machine! The poor boy was traumatized! He just kept saying "wash" over and over again. I reassured him a number of times that he would get duckie back, but it was quite the experience! Well, duckie has since been returned, and Ethan loves to hold onto the edge of duckie while sucking his thumb! It's actually extremely adorable, and here is the picture to prove it! PS, don't you love the duck slippers! :)

BUGS!!!!

Ethan seems to be fascinated with bugs when he is outside. He follows ants around like they are the most amazing creatures on the planet. Now, add wings to the ant, a carseat, and a car on the freeway, and it spells disaster for our little Ethan! Explanation . . .

I was driving down the freeway the other day when Ethan started screaming bug, bug, bug! He was more upset than I've ever seen him and was screaming to the point of hysterics! I turned around and there was a fly in the car, and it had landed on the edge of his car seat! I rolled down all the windows in hopes of the fly escaping, however, it just kept swarming Ethan which led to even more panic! So, I finally had to get off the freeway, pull over, and get the fly out of the car. The entire rest of the trip he said bug? I told him the bug had gone by by, but to no avail! He was still quite concerned!

I thought this was hilareous, and laughed about it for quite sometime with Andy! To my surprise, the SAME EXACT EXPERIENCE happened the very next day! So, watch out for flies in the car!

Going to the beach!

The city has put its tax dollars to a very good use. In fact, a use that I totally support 100%! They built a reservoir/beach! How much more fun can it get. Thanks to Gary, Rachel, and kids, who let us come and hang out with them all day at the beach, and for letting us use all their beach toys! We have had a ball!
