About Us

Andy and I met on a blind date in Dec. 2005. One of my 7th grade students was his neice, and she set us up. Go figure. We saw each other every day after that! We were engaged by June and married in September of 2006. In January, 2008, we welcomed little Ethan into our home, and in August, 2010, little Addison arrived.

Andy is a diesel mechanic at Kennecott. I taught middle school science for ten years, and am now an evidence-based learning specialist for a school district.

Camping Trip

This weekend, we went camping with my parents! Ethan had a great time playing in the dirt at the campsite! In fact, this is one of the few pictures I've actually taken of him smiling!

Grandma and Grandpa love to entertain him! Here is Grandma with some bubbles she bought for him!

We took a quick trip from our campsite down to Zermatt to ride the carousel adn feed the goats! Ethan was afraid of the carousel, but really liked the goats!

We also had fun at the duck pond! The ducks would come right up to your hand to eat! This is hilareous of Grandma! Thanks mom and dad for having us up!! We really enjoyed it!

My Honey!

Andy, just wanted to tell you that you are the most amazing dad to our little Ethan! He LOVES you dearly, and gets so excited when you walk through the door! I love to see you make him giggle, and I love to watch him immitate the things that you do! It's exciting to think about all the things you'll teach him in his life, and how much he already looks up to you! He has sooo much of you in him . . . especially how much he loves to tease! It melts my heart to see the two of you together, and I'm so thankful that I married such a great husband and father! Love you babe!

Mother's Day & Father's Day

Andy and I decided that this year we would buy bikes, and a bike trailer for mom and dad's day! Andy picked them up, I put the trailer together, and we were ready to be on our way! Ethan screamed the ENTIRE time I was buckling him in, and I was thinking, great, what a horrible idea! Once we got going, he LOVED every minute of it, and then tried to climb back in once we took him out after our ride. We had a fantastic little ride, but for the last 3 days, my butt has hurt SUPER bad! Guess I need to get a new seat or something! We're excited for our bikes though. Ethan looks like he's about asleep in this picture, but he enjoyed the ride. PS, don't mind the mini woobie as we like to call it!

fine dining - fat free style

In an attempt to be healthier, AND shed a few pounds, I cooked a new meal tonight that actually turned out to be pretty good . . . Squash Al Fredo!

The Alfredo sauce is a weight watchers recipe, which is mixed with cubed chicken seasoned with season salt. The sauce is then poured of Zuchini noodles, and served with broccoli, and "breadsticks", which are actually Flatouts, that are spread with I can't believe it's not butter, and then sprinkled with parmesean cheese and garlic salt and then placed under the broiler for a few minutes! All in all, it was pretty tasty!

Elmo & Popcorn

Lately, Ethan is fascinated by cartoons, Barney, and Sesame Street! He loves to sit on Daddy's lap and watch, and have some sort of cracker or treat. Today, he shared a little of Dad's popcorn!

So Sweet!

I have to admit, I feel a little guilty about this picture! I just yelled at Ethan for picking my flower, but then this happened, and how can you get mad at this! It was tooo cute, so I grabbed the camera and got a shot just in the nic of time! Adorable isn't it!

Lava Hot Springs!

On Friday, we woke up and drove to Lava Hot Springs! I have never been before, so I had no idea what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised to find a cute, tiny town. We rented a house for a few days with Andy's parents, and then his brother Gary, and his family stayed in a trailer down the street. On Friday we first checked out town. We found a cute little park where Ethan had to try out all the toys! Then, we spent the day at the swimming pool, which the big kids loved more than the little kids. The water slides were fantastic, and Gary and Andy even went off the olympic high dive! They are crazy!!!! The cutest part of all . . . I just got to the bottom of the water slide, and was waiting for Andy at the bottom, and it was a closed in tube water slide, and I could hear Andy giggling the entire way down! It was adorable! That night we strolled through town and stopped at the ice cream parlor to get a SQUARE scoop of ice cream. That's right, a square scoop! Never had that before!! After dinner, we ran to the grocery store and bought Ethan this little ball to play with. Little did he know, we played dodgeball with it until dark, and had a blast!

Saturday it was cold and rainey, but the kids wanted to run the river. So, Andy and Gary braved the cold to take the kids down. They rented tubes, and off they went. They went twice, and then afterwords, we went back for some hot showers, and some hot chocolate! We really had a fun time!

Daddy's little helper!

Yesterday I started to put the new handles on my bathroom cabinets, but didn't finish before Andy got home. So, when he got there, he wrapped things up, and as you can see, Ethan had to be right there in the action with his very own screw driver too! He has play tools, and I gave him his play screw driver, but he wanted none of that. He wanted to use the real one like daddy!!! How cute!

Fun with Photoshop

From this . . . To this . . .

Andy gave me some fantastic computer programs for my birthday a while ago, and I've been a regular user of them, but I learned something new today! For those of you who are experts, don't laugh, I know this is probably simple stuff, but I'm not a techie by any stretch of the imagination, so I was quite proud of myself that I was able to accomplish this!

Snow in June?

Okay, so it wasn't really snow, but at a glance, it sure looked like snow, and lots of it! We had a MASSIVE rain and hail storm today! I don't think I've ever seen it rain so hard before for such a long period of time! The moisture is great, but it didn't help my flowers out too much.

After 10 Years . . .

It's hard to believe that I've been teaching for 10 years, and that now that's coming to an end! I've enjoyed my career! I spent 4 years teaching 8th and 9th graders, and the last 6 years teaching 7th grade! I also coached the girls basketball team for 5 years, and brought home 2 championships! It has been a great priviledge working with so many young people! They have kept me on my toes, kept me in the loop, and kept me laughing! I sure enjoy seeing them learn, grow, develop, and I especially enjoy instilling a love for science in them. These are three of my girls from this year, Maraysia, Cassidy, and Kylie! They are adorable, and it's kids like these that will make me wish I was back in the classroom next year!

I only hope that I'll enjoy my new job at the district office as much as I've enjoyed teaching. I go with some anxiety, as I'm not sure what all my new job will entail! It was time for a change though, and I'm excited to move on to something new, and I'm so thankful for the opprotunity I have to grow a little in my career.
