About Us

Andy and I met on a blind date in Dec. 2005. One of my 7th grade students was his neice, and she set us up. Go figure. We saw each other every day after that! We were engaged by June and married in September of 2006. In January, 2008, we welcomed little Ethan into our home, and in August, 2010, little Addison arrived.

Andy is a diesel mechanic at Kennecott. I taught middle school science for ten years, and am now an evidence-based learning specialist for a school district.

Playing Fetch with Norma

Ethan just cracks me up these days. I wish I could get everything he does on video, but he doesn't perform for the camera. Anyway, he was throwing some toys for Norma to fetch, and she wasn't being very cooperative. He kept saying "get it" over and over again, and then finally he went over and grabbed her ear and yanked on it to try and get her to go fetch her toy, all to no avail! So, he finally went over and got it himself! What a crack up that kid is!

NOOOOOOO!!!!!

I'm soooooo sad that Michael went home! I thought he was fantastic, and I think the girls wanted to save him. Darn that Simon! There is just something about him. He just seems like a good wholesome person, and that's hard to find these days! Oh well, life goes on!

American Idol

Well, as much as I have hated Adam in the past, I have to admit that I actually liked him last night. The song was sweet, he didn't look like a moron, and he didn't do that weird tongue thing. I still don't like that he sings higher than most girls, but oh well. Andy said that he looked quite a bit like Kurt Russel last night, and I have to agree!

I very much dislike Megan, and hope she goes home tonight. I know that Michael, the guy I absolutely adore will be going home soon too, but I loved him last night! Really, I liked everyone except Megan and Scott. It will be interesting to see what happens!

twilight- what's with all the fuss?

I have never had a desire to read any of the twilight series at all. Everyone has been telling me how fantastic they are, but a jr. high vampire story doesn't really appeal to me too much. So, I've tended to shy away! I did watch the movie last night to see what all the fuss was about. Now, I know that movies never do a book justice, but the movie sucked! It was slow, boring, and awkward. It actually started picking up about the last 10 minutes, but by then I'd already lost my interest. Needless to say, I was not impressed at all. My apologies to all you twilight fans.

Ethan's word of the Day!

When I was in Kohl's the other day with my mom, they were playing some sort of rap song that said the word BABY over and over again. So, Ethan kept saying baby over and over again in the store! I think Judy must have taught him to say baby, because I didn't!

Yesterday, Andy taught him how to tell Norma to "stay". So, he holds up his hand and says stay! It's adorable.

Pictures

Ethan STILL will not really smile for a camera. We attempted to get him to smile in these pictures without much luck, but i think they turned out pretty cute anyway!

Learning Lots

Ethan is learning so much lately, and I really haven't blogged too much about all the fun things he's up to! So, here it goes . . .

He's talking sooo much more now, and trying to say all sorts of words. When he's in his chatty mode, he pretty much tries to copy everything we say. He knows a few words for sure though. He knows the word dog, and points at Norma and calls her dog. He LOVES her, and hugs her all the time. He also knows what a dog says. Instead of saying woof woof, he pants like he hears Norma doing, which I think is so funny.

He also knows Wii. We have a box with all our Wii stuff in it by the side of the TV. He says Wii a million times over and over again until he gets in the box and pulls out the remote. It is so funny, and there is a video a few posts back with him saying Wii.

ALL food, whether it's something frozen, or milk, is "hot".

His new thing is to say "whastha"? So, he points at everything and asks what it is. He often times tries to mimic us, and usually does a pretty good job at it. The night I told him it was time to go night night, and he said it clear as a bell.

His favorite toy right now is his ball. He kicks it or throws it all through the house and shouts "ball" in the meantime.

He's learning so many things, it's unbelievable! We adore him!

American Idol

Wow, last night was fantastic! I'm curious as to how the rules are changing today, but who knows. I hope they don't change things too much. I like the format as it is! I have to say that I really like ALMOST everyone this year. I hate Adam Lambert though. Something about him drives me crazy. They LOVE him though, so I"m sure he'll be around for a while. Who knows!

Big Buddah

This week, my school is "The Cool School of the Week." Big Buddah is here today filming. Check it out on Fox 13 news!

Wii

Everytime Grandma and Grandpa T come over we play the Wii. Ethan is obsessed with the Wii controllers, and has watched everyone play so much that he tries to make the same motions and sounds. It is a crack up. Believe it or not, he even knows what it's called. Don't believe me? Here is the proof! (I know he looks like the unibomber with the hood on, but he'd been outside with Andy BBQing)

Memory Lane

It's been 12 short years since my first days of college, and yesterday I had the opportunity to get together with a few of my roomies! It was so fun to see them, and hear about what they'd been up to since we left college. They both have adorable boys that are just about the same age as Ethan. They are still a little too young to play together, but this will come in time! Pam and Heather, you guys are still fun, beautiful, and wonderful ladies! Love ya!

One of two things always seems to happen when you meet up with friends from the past . . . A) you simply talk about what you've been doing, and then you run out of things to say and it gets awkward, or 2) you reconnect, and you're right back in the groove of how things used to be. No awkardness, just fun. I guess this is the sign of true friendships! I'm glad we were like the 2nd scenario and were able to just jump right back in, have a great time, and enjoy each others company!

Thank heavens for blogging, because this is where I ran into Pam, and then into Heather, and I've been able to make connections with other people from my past as well! It's so fun to see what everyone is up to!

Aquarium

Last Saturday we loaded Ethan up and took him over to a really neat aquarium. Grandma T came with us too! Ethan loved looking at all the fish, especially the Jelly Fish. He also really liked the shark tank. Here he is with Dad checking out a really cool one who was swimming right by the glass.

Grandma really enjoyed being there with us too, and she loved showing Ethan the neat fish.

Big Boy!

Long gone are the days of cleanliness at eating time in our home! Ethan is bound and determined to feed himself, and it gets super messy! Here he is eating some carrots!

This picture I just love . . . look at the determination on his face to get some carrots onto his spoon!

This picture is called "show mama how the piggies eat" but Ethan is thinking . . . "to heck with this spoon, I can get it much easier if I just lick it off the plate."
