About Us

Andy and I met on a blind date in Dec. 2005. One of my 7th grade students was his neice, and she set us up. Go figure. We saw each other every day after that! We were engaged by June and married in September of 2006. In January, 2008, we welcomed little Ethan into our home, and in August, 2010, little Addison arrived.

Andy is a diesel mechanic at Kennecott. I taught middle school science for ten years, and am now an evidence-based learning specialist for a school district.

Yuck!

This morning I got Ethan out of bed, and his diaper had leaked, and so I got him out of his jammies, and into the bath for a quick wash. I turned to get his towel, and turned back, and he had started grunting. So . . . I grabbed him quick to put him on the toilet, but too late! I couldn't bring myself to take a picture of it for the blog. I got the clorox and cleaned the tub out. Anyway, it was a yucky experience!

You know your dog is starving when . . .

Norma is on a diet! I had to take her to the vet the other day for her foot, and I asked how much she should be eating. He told me only 2 cups of food per day, which is WAY less than what we were feeding her. So, we cut down her food, but she is not too happy about it. She pushes her food bowl around making all sorts of noise, just begging us to fill it up. Then the other day, Ethan had Spaghettios, and he's in this I want to feed myself stage, so he had them from head to toe. I took him out of the high chair, and Norma started to lick the stains off his clothes. Poor dog, she really is starving!

American Idol

I have to admit that I LOVE American Idol. My poor hubby HATES it, but watches it with me anyway. Bless his little heart. Anyway, I really haven't participated in voting in the past, but I voted on Tuesday night, and to my surprise, all 3 that I voted for made it through! Happy day! Little Alexis Grace has an amazing voice, and I loved the song she sang on Tuesday night. Michael just has some loveable quality about him. I honestly didn't think he'd make it, but something about him just makes you want him to win. Danny has that raspy voice which I love, and I think he'll be great! I can't wait for next week!

Creative with Cans

I really love making things. It always gives me great satisfaction to look at what I created. This may sound a little cocky, but I thoroughly agree with a talk given at Conference that said women should create, and creating gives a person a great sense of accomplishment! My creative juices get flowing on occasion, and I get the urge to be crafty. My niece is pregnant, and due in June. Since making the diaper cake for Missy's shower, I've had the bug to make another one for my niece. So, here it is! I also turned a formula can into a gift basket of clothes for her little guy!
This can is one of two that I made for Valentine's day for Grandma's and Grandpa's. I filled them with Peanuts, for a nice healthy valentine's snack!

Love

Happy Valentine's day! I was never a fan of valentine's day until I met Andy! He always makes it super special, and I really appreciate all he does. Our first Valentine's day together was when we were dating, and he told me the night was a surprise. I only knew that I had to wear a dress. So, I got ready, answered the door, and to my surprise, it was an old guy in a tuxedo. He said, "good evening, I will be your limo driver this evening." I looked out, and there was Andy in a new suit! He looked so cute. The limo took us to La Caille! We had a fantastic dinner, and then there was a little dancing. It was so much fun.

Each has been different, but still just as great. This year, we decided that we just wanted a date night! Sounds simple, but when you have a little one, it's hard to get out and have a night alone! I'm sure it will be fantastic!

I love my hubby and am so happy to have him in my life. I'm so grateful for his warm embrace, for his tender kisses, his hugs and words of encouragement when I get frustrated and overwhelmed. He inspires me, and keeps me motivated. He is a fantastic dad to little Ethan, and most importantly, he makes me laugh! I love you babe!

Funny Pictures!

I just think that this picture is so stinkin' funny! Ethan just makes me smile! He found these headphones in the closet this morning while I was getting ready and thought it was pretty funny to put them on, so I took him out and hooked them up to my ipod, and he was in heaven! He LOVES music, and loves to dance to it! He looks like a regular old DJ in this picture! I LOVE it! This is a picture of the beggers! We thought Norma was bad about begging for food, and then Ethan came along. It doesn't matter what we're eating, he wants it! This is some frozen yogurt form Maverick, and as soon as Andy started eating they both made their way over to get some of it! What a crack up!

Draper Temple

We had the opportunity to go to the Draper Temple Open house the other night. I have to say that it was SOOO unorganized that I was very impatient, and started out with a horrible attitude. Once we got to the temple, however, my spirit changed, and I was able to walk through and enjoy the beauty of the temple. It was really beautiful, with lots of imported rock and wood. It is a very small temple, but it's super nice, and i'd love to go back after it's dedicated and do a session! My favorite room in the temple was the celestial room. It wasn't too large, but it was super tall, and had the most beautiful chandelier you've ever seen!

Andy's a Genius

It was Andy's Mom & Dad's birthdays this weekend, and Andy wanted to give them a special present from Ethan. He wanted to do hand prints in plaster, but I decided it would look much cuter to have hand prints on a painted plaque. So, the two of us came up with a great plan! I got a picture of the finished product, but, the most fun pictures I missed out on. I decided to do the hand prints the other night when Andy wasn't home, so it was pretty difficult to wrangle a baby with black paint all over his hands, and the plaques, let alone a camera. Ethan had paint EVERYWHERE! It was pretty humerous! Anyway, here is a picture of one of the plaques. I decided to make three. One for us, one for Andy's parents, and one for my parents! I think they turned out great!
