About Us

Andy and I met on a blind date in Dec. 2005. One of my 7th grade students was his neice, and she set us up. Go figure. We saw each other every day after that! We were engaged by June and married in September of 2006. In January, 2008, we welcomed little Ethan into our home, and in August, 2010, little Addison arrived.

Andy is a diesel mechanic at Kennecott. I taught middle school science for ten years, and am now an evidence-based learning specialist for a school district.

Fisherman Anonymous

My husband has rediscovered one of his old hobbies . . . fishing. He can't seem to get enough of it and tries to go every spare minute that he has. I'm glad he enjoys it, and I'm glad he's got something to do to help him have an escape and a little break from things. Bring on the fishing tales.

nacho libre - the spiderman version

Ethan has developed a love for Spiderman these days! So, when my parents went on their Mexican Riviera cruise, they had to pick up one of these spiderman masks/capes. It has taken Ethan quite some time to actually want to wear it, but last night he specifically asked to wear it, and had it on for quite some time. He looks hilarious in it.

Disneyland

"I want to shoot more Zurg!" This was the sentence most uttered in Disneyland this year. We rode the Buzz Light Year Astro Blaster ride very first this year, and it was by far Ethan's favorite ride. He woke up every morning and asked to shoot more Zurg. We even bought him an astro blaster gun, which the batteries are already worn out in.
Andy also likes the Astro blaster game, and is quite good at it, and even had the second highest score of the day with just a little over a million points! :)

He was also pretty excited to meet his favorite characters . . . that is until he actually got right up to them. He had his picture taken with all of them but has the same funny look each time. The only one he wouldn't go to on his own was Captain Hook. Judy had to hold him next to Hook, and he looks as though he doesn't like being near him too much.

He was a good boy though and didn't make a peep in the car on the way down. He and his cousin Charlotte rode in the back and watched movies, colored, and played with each other. They were great. We made a stop in Primm Nevada to stretch out legs and let the kids take a break on the way down. We headed to the arcade in the casino to hang out for a while, and of course Andy played the claw! He won about 8 toys, including 2 buzz lightyears, and a woody doll from toy story! Ethan LOVES them!

Ethan was also great at Disneyland, and rode pretty much every ride he could have. He wanted to do most of the walking, but we had a stroller just in case, and thank goodness we did, because nap time was in the stroller at the park. We went with Andy's parents, and his brother and his family!

On Tuesday morning, we used our Magical Morning early entry and headed in to the character breakfast right inside the park. I think the kids loved meeting the characters here, and the adults loved the yummy breakfast buffet! Charlotte was hilarious with Captain hook, and actually got under the table when he came around. She was awfully scared of him!

We certainly had a great time, and look forward to taking him back again. I think he'll like it even more next time!

One CRAZY Night!

Last night was not a fabulous night! I came home from work, and got dinner started. I had boiled potatoes, and went to drain them and spilled boiling water on my leg and burned myself pretty badly. I know . . . not the sharpest tool in the shed to spill boiling water on myself.

In the meantime, Andy has worked a million days in a row in order to take some time off for a vacation. He is extremely tired after working 10 days in a row, 13 hour shifts. Last night, he came home to a burned wife, and had to take care of everything, which ruined his plans of going to bed early. Well, we finally got to sleep, and the fire alarm went off. It rang for a minute, and then turned off by itself. We went back to bed after we inspected everything, but it happened again, and again, and again. By 12:30, we were sick of the problem. After some quick internet research, Andy learned that there might be some dust in some of the alarms. So, he went downstairs, and cleaned them all out, and the problem was solved. Well, since it was so late, and he had to be up in a few hours to go to work, I know he didn't get too much sleep last night. The good news . . . Ethan slept through the entire ordeal of the fire alarm ringing frequently last night!

Needless to say . . . I'm grateful for my hubby and the sacrifices he makes for our family! Love you babe!
