About Us

Andy and I met on a blind date in Dec. 2005. One of my 7th grade students was his neice, and she set us up. Go figure. We saw each other every day after that! We were engaged by June and married in September of 2006. In January, 2008, we welcomed little Ethan into our home, and in August, 2010, little Addison arrived.

Andy is a diesel mechanic at Kennecott. I taught middle school science for ten years, and am now an evidence-based learning specialist for a school district.

Last Days of Summer!

We decided to pull the pool out one last time before summer was over! Ethan just loves to splash in the water, so this little pool is perfect!
He is 7 months old now, and is doing great. He's even starting to say 'da da'. Okay, maybe it's more like dududu, but we were still pretty excited. He's becoming Mr. Indenpendent. He only wants to be held when he's tired. He loves to play on the floor, and discover new things, but he wants to do it by himself. He also loves to feel textures, and chew on anything. Norma fascinates him! He grabs her ears, and bless her little heart, she just lets him. I fear for the day he starts crawling, because I know he'll follow her right out the dog door! We've also been trying out new foods. He loves bananas and honeydew, and ice cream!
He's just at such a fun age now, but I miss those days where I could just cuddle him all day long!

Sick Baby!

I woke up bright and early to begin the first "real" day of school. (Meaning my students would actually be there.) I was all ready to go, and Ethan still wasn't awake yet. So, I got him out of bed, and I discovered that he was sick. He had a horrible runny nose, and he sneezed and coughed all the way to Grandma's house. I felt horrible! He's still sick today. Isn't it the worst to have a sick baby? I hope he's better soon, and I hope he sleeps better tonight. He's such a little trooper though. He still laughs, and giggles, and wants to play even though I know he doesn't feel well!

Back to School

Back to school, back to school, to prove to dad that I'm not a fool. I've got my lunch packed up, my boots tied tight, I hope I don't get in a fight, oh back to school, back to school!

I really wanted to put this video in my blog, but I couldn't figure out how to do it, so I'll just post the link to you tube so that you can check it out! It's from Billy Madison, and I think it's hilareous!

Anyway, I really am back to school. Today was day 2. The kids start Monday, and I'm mourning the loss of summer vacation. I hated leaving Ethan, but at least he's with his Grandma. So, I guess it's not too bad, but it was sure fun to spend all summer with the little guy!

New Car

The Jetta just wasn't cutting it anymore. With the new car seat, my knees touched the dash when I was riding in the passenger side. So, we went on a quest for a new car. We ended up purchasing an 09 Dodge Caliber. It's fun, has a lot more room for Ethan, and gets great gas mileage! Funny how priorities change huh? The last time I bought a car, I bought it for what it looked like. This time we went in and said we don't care what it is, we just want good gas mileage, big enough for a car seat, and not too expensive!

Apples and Ice Cream

Emily introduced us to these little mesh food holders. So, I bought one today for Ethan and put an apple in it. He LOVED it! But, don't be thinking what a good little boy who likes his fruit, because when he saw mom and dad eating an ice cream bar after dinner, he dropped the apple, and was bound and determined to get a bite of ice cream.

I like the hat, but not the grass mom!

Andy bought Ethan this hat, and I think it's adorable, so I took him outside for some pictures! He didn't quite like the feel of the grass on his legs. His faces are priceless!

Playtime!

Ethan loves to play with his dad! It's adorable. Even though he's a momma's boy big time, no matter how hard I try, I can't get him to laugh like Andy can!

Great, Great Aunt Trudy

Today Mom, Ethan, and I went to visit my Great Aunt Trudy. She's 91, and is doing pretty darn good. She gets around really well, and lives in a very cute assisted living facility! It was fun to introduce her to our little guy.

Birth Announcement

This is a little, (I guess a LOT) late, but I still wanted to post it. I think it turned out pretty good. I made it on a program that Andy gave me for my birthday this year!

First Hair Cut!

Ethan really needed a hair cut quite a long time ago, but I haven't been brave enough to do it. His hair was getting soooo long, and sooo curly that it just looked "crazified" (thanks to Colby for this word) after naps, when getting out of the car seat, etc. So, we decided it needed to be done. I made a short attempt with scissors, and then we decided we better use the trimmers. So, Andy finished up, and for having such a wiggle worm who screamed for most of the hair cut, it turned out pretty good! As you can see, we cut off a TON of hair!
