About Us

Andy and I met on a blind date in Dec. 2005. One of my 7th grade students was his neice, and she set us up. Go figure. We saw each other every day after that! We were engaged by June and married in September of 2006. In January, 2008, we welcomed little Ethan into our home, and in August, 2010, little Addison arrived.

Andy is a diesel mechanic at Kennecott. I taught middle school science for ten years, and am now an evidence-based learning specialist for a school district.

Crazy Kid!

Two years ago, I taught a student named Chris. Last year, he occasionally said hi to me in the hall ways, but this year, I wonder if he's stalking me. He comes by my classroom every single day on his way to lunch. Now, you must know, that my school is set up with a 7th grade wing, an 8th grade wing, and a 9th grade wing. I teach in the 7th grade wing, and he is a 9th grader, so he goes CLEAR out of his way to swing by and see me each day. I have students at this time since we have two lunches at our school. So, the first few times he just walked into class and yelled hi Mrs. Allen, so I told the girl who sits by the door to make sure it's shut and locked when the bell rings for 2nd lunch. So, now he comes to the door, tries to open it, and then comes back to the window and hits the window until I wave to him. Then he goes on his merry way to lunch. The most random part of this story is that he was a HORRIBLE student in my class. He was in trouble more than any other student that I've ever taught. I can't figure it out. The only thing I can think of is that he's trying to make up for his poor behavior. Who knows.

Poor kid - sounds like he just wants attention. Even negative attention. Must not get it at home or something, and maybe his other teachers just ignore him. So, good job for getting him in trouble - that's what he needed! I admire you for being a Jr. High teacher. Don't think I could do it. I hope school is off to a good start for you this year! Love ya!

Who is it?! You should probably email me his full name. Was he in our afternoon team? Was he in your 6th period class?
