I have to keep a close eye on Ethan these days. Everytime I turn around, he's somewhere he shouldn't be. I'm not sure why he chooses to only crawl to unsafe places, when he has a million toys around the house, but he does it anyway. So, he loves to crawl over to the plant, and try to pick off the leaves and eat them before I can get to him. He also loves to crawl over to the dog door and stick his hands out. He crawls to every plug in our house, so I had to go get those little plastic things for them, and he also is fascinated by all of our night lights! He rips them right out of the wall. And last, but surely not least, he loves to crawl over and sit on Norma's bed which is covered in dog hair!!!! YUCK!!!!!
So, I've come to the conclusion that babies doesn't really like toys, and the toy companies just have fooled us into thinking they like toys! Babies just know what is real and what is a toy. For instance, Ethan has his own toy remote control. He doesn't play with this one, he wants the REAL remote control. Ethan won't play with the old cell phone, he wants the REAl cell phone. It's so cute, because he even holds it up to his ears! I need to get some pictures of this!!!! Anyway, who needs toys, when you have such an inquisitive kid!!!
About Us
Andy and I met on a blind date in Dec. 2005. One of my 7th grade students was his neice, and she set us up. Go figure. We saw each other every day after that! We were engaged by June and married in September of 2006. In January, 2008, we welcomed little Ethan into our home, and in August, 2010, little Addison arrived.
Andy is a diesel mechanic at Kennecott. I taught middle school science for ten years, and am now an evidence-based learning specialist for a school district.
