About Us

Andy and I met on a blind date in Dec. 2005. One of my 7th grade students was his neice, and she set us up. Go figure. We saw each other every day after that! We were engaged by June and married in September of 2006. In January, 2008, we welcomed little Ethan into our home, and in August, 2010, little Addison arrived.

Andy is a diesel mechanic at Kennecott. I taught middle school science for ten years, and am now an evidence-based learning specialist for a school district.

Cruise!

We were able to go on a cruise last week, and we had a blast! We visited Jamaica, Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and the Bahamas. We had sooo much fun. Here are a few pictures from the trip. The first one is my Aunt Colleen and Uncle Brian. It is very comforting to know that the very first thing you do on a cruise ship is learn what to do if you sink!

Our first stop was Jamaica! We hiked up the Dunn River falls. Right through them!!! It was so much fun to be right in the water fall. Then we took a chair lift through the rain forest. It was so much fun, but I don't have pictures of any of this yet, because they are all waiting to be developed on the water proof camera.

This is Andy getting ready to go snorkeling in Grand Cayman. This was by far my favorite part of the cruise. We snorkeled on a little reef and then went to Sting Ray City. It is a little sand bar clear out in the ocean where you can stand up, and there are a ton of Sting Ray. They come right up to you, and you can feed them, hold them, etc. They were swimming all around us and it was so neat.

On our way back to shore, the guy on the boat dove right off as we were going, the boat turned around, and he came on board with this really neat star fish.

This is Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville, which is EVERYWHERE, and Andy pretending he doesn't want to kiss me!

In cozumel, we got off the boat, did a little shopping, and then took a taxi to Chaunkanaab beach. It is a really nice beach, and we did some great snorkeling here. We saw an Eagle Ray, which is like a sting ray, but a little different!

We had a really funny waiter named Roberto for dinner time. He would always tease me! On crab night he was sooo funny. He brought everyone their big plate of crab, and then he handed me a plate with ONE tiny crab leg and a cup of butter. He was so much fun.

Our next stop was the Bahamas. Princess Cruises owns part of the beach here, called Princess Cays, which is where we stopped. It was nice to have a private beach all to ourselves. They bring in the buffett food and everything. I bought a purse here, and the front of it has cute pink flip flops embroidered in it, and then I had her add my name to the back!

This is Andy on Princess Cays! No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problem. This is Andy's motto to live by, and you really can live like that in the Bahamas. We need to move!

This is me in the bahamas. The covered pavilions are where they have the buffet and tables to eat at!

View of the beach in Princess Cays!

Andy kept telling me he was going to throw me overboard, so I pretended to be falling off!

This is our cruise ship, and a great pose!

This is dinner time on the ship! Suzanne, Colby, Brian, Colleen, Matt, Joree!
Mom & Dad at dinner time!

This is Johnny and Roberto. Since Roberto was such a smarty pants, we pulled Johnny and Roberto together, and gave Johnny a really big tip, and this is me giving Roberto a $1 peso that I picked up in Mexico. Check out the face, it's classic.

Then, we gave Roberto his real tip, and this is him posing with the Peso!

We had such a great time! I'll post other pictures later I guess! I just wanted to get something up from our great trip!

I am so jealous! Your cruise looked so fun! We are glad you had a good time. I can see Andy happy about not having to wear shoes.

Oooo, so pretty! I never understood what the big deal with islands was until I went to one myself. Love the island feel.
